Bioenergy Facility, Wilmington, NC

CTT provided civil and structural design services, and marine services for this 60 million gallons per year biofuel processing facility. The process creates diesel fuel from vegetable oil.  A 4,000 SF office/control lab, a 2,500 Maintenance building, a 2,200 boiler building, and various other supporting buildings are proposed.

 

Duties consisted of parking and drive layout, truck unloading layout, sanitary sewer pump station, gravity sewer, sanitary sewer force main connecting to City sewer on City Street, new waterlines, storm drainage and, oil / water separation.  Due to floodplain requirements, retaining walls were used to elevate the site and building pads.  A wet stormwater detention pond is used for stormwater treatment.

 

Permitting duties included City Planning, City Board of Adjustment, City Sewer Pretreatment, City and State Water, City and State Sewer, City Stormwater, City Landscaping, City Traffic, City Trees, City Fire, USACE Wetlands, USACE Pond Outfall Pipe, County Erosion Control. NCDENR Sewer, NCDENR Coastal Management, NCDENR Waterlines, and NCDENR Stormwater.
