CTT served as a sub-consultant on Units 4 and 5 SCR/FGD duct
support and pipe rack systems. CTT supported Burns & McDonnell, the lead
engineering firm by providing structural design of the duct supports with
Chemtex International. The structure was designed using a 3D model and
required coordination with several vendors. The 31’ diameter ducts are
located 130’ above grade and extend from the new respective absorber
equipment to the new stack. Structural engineering was provided by CTT for
the expansion joint access platforms that extend up and over the duct. CTT
also provided engineering on foundations for several new tanks, equipment,
utility trenching and a 180’ x 100’ mat foundation for a tank farm.
