Criser Troutman Tanner provided structural engineering design
phase services for the design of a single story, 18,056 SF, medical
office/surgical building utilizing a metal roof deck and supported by steel
beams and roof joists, which in turn are supported by HSS columns. An above
ceiling mechanical mezzanine was provided, consisting of cold-formed
stud-joists with a metal deck platform and supported by cold-formed,
load-bearing metal stud walls. The lateral bracing system, designed for 135
mph wind and associated seismic forces, consisted of ordinary steel moment
resisting frames and concentric steel brace frames. Exterior wall framing
consisted of light-gage metal stud curtain wall framing. The foundation
system consisted of shallow isolated spread footings.
RAM Steel & Advanse software was utilized in the structural
design of the building.
