CTT
provided
complete structural, civil and marine engineering for the
design of a new marina, which included demolition, dredging, earthwork,
bulkheads, floating docks, piling, fueling facilities, sitework, water,
sewer pumpout, stormwater systems, landscaping, irrigation and extending
the Wilmington Riverwalk. Services also consisted of extending landbased
utilities to the marina as well as for future development on the site.
CTT was engaged by Almont Shipping Co. to provide long-term planning for
relocating its deep-water steamship terminal from a downtown site where it
had operated for almost a century, handling bulk agricultural and
construction materials. Services included planning a phase transition from
an operating ship (originally steamship) terminal to a large Pleasure Boat
Marina with high-rise office, commercial and residential development.
The most significant feature of the marina layout is the provision for the
City’s linear river-side edge Riverwalk around the boating environment.
The marina design required coordination with the construction of a new
city Convention Center on the south side and to extend the Riverwalk
northward.
CTT provided all services for preparation of local and State permit
applications for Stormwater Management and for the CAMA Major Permit for
the Division of Coastal Management. CTT worked closely with the Owner’s
Architect. Full Bid and Construction Phase Services will also be provided.
