CTT provided full design phase engineering services for the design of a 16’ wide
single-lane elevated boat launch. Approach lane consists of pressure timber
decking over timber stringers and timber piles. The launch ramp consisted of
a reinforced cast-in-place concrete slab over a hot-dipped galvanized form
deck, which in turn is supported by aluminum tube girders and timber
piles/concrete grade beams. CAMA permit approval (by others)
required the design to be elevated above the existing fringe marsh grass.
Therefore other than the piles, only the toe of the ramp bears on the
existing grade.
Limited
Construction Administration services, including periodic construction
observations and meetings, were also provided.
