CTT provided full engineering services for the City of Wilmington
Stormwater Services to repair the existing tidal flood gates and walkways
across Burnt Mill Creek, which have been damaged over the years from
flowing debris. Tidal cycles as well as past storm flood events had eroded
from under the concrete spillway and began flowing under the apron,
thereby reducing the efficiency the tidegates ability to prevent ebbing
flows up the creek. A new concrete spillway apron was provided along with
steel sheet piling to serve as both a cutoff wall as well as retaining
wall around three sides of the apron. |
