CTT
provides complete engineering design services to produce
contract documents for numerous projects involving access Banks Channel &
canal maintenance dredging as well as maintenance dredging of the
surrounding Masons Inlet, Masons Creek, Nixon Creek and Riches Inlet, which
bound the southern and northern ends of the island, respectively. Dredged
material from these dredging projects was used for beach renourishment
projects. Also, upon satisfactory testing of existing spoil material as to
being compatible beach material, an adjacent existing USACE dredge disposal
island(s), which had reached its capacity, was also reclaimed for its
material and used for nourishing several of the beachfront areas. Reuse of
this material returned capacity to this spoil island.
Design services included analysis and quantity computations
of pre– and post dredging depths, spoil volumes, beach volumes, engineering
design, cost estimates for maintenance dredging, survey mapping of canal
dredge widths, preparation of technical specifications and contract
documents, and meetings with the Homeowner’s Association & Board.
Full bid and construction phase services are also provided by
bidding project(s), receiving and recommending contract award to the HOA,
overseeing project progress and disposal of spoil material onto the beaches
in a manner that was acceptable to building new beachfront and dunes as well
as post-dredge depth verification.
Other coastal engineering services included preparation of
CAMA and USACE permits and environmental documentation required for these
projects.
