provided complete engineering design services to produce contract
documents for maintenance dredging of the Town’s “natural” canals, entrance
canals, header and commercial canals. This project consisted of
approximately 16,720 lf of dredging to -6.0 MLW of the "natural" canals, entrance canals and
collector canals, which yielded approximately 73,000 cy of spoil material.
Arnold Carson Surveying provided all bathymetry and topographic surveys
for the ‘01 dredging while Gahagan & Bryant Associates, Inc. provided
bathymetry and topographic information so that dredge quantities could be
estimated for ‘05. Design services included analysis and quantity
computations of spoil volumes, engineering design, cost estimates for
maintenance dredging, survey mapping of canal dredge widths, preparation
of technical specifications and contract documents, and meetings with the
Town Commissioners.
Full bid and construction phase services were also provided by bidding
project, receiving and recommending contract award to the Town, overseeing
project progress and disposal of spoil material into an adjacent spoil
basin along the AIWW, which included extending the containment dikes up to
the appropriate level and periodic meetings with the Town and Contractor.
Other coastal engineering services included preparation of CAMA and USACE
permits and environmental documentation required for this dredging
project. |
